Privacy Policy

This page explains which personal data is processed when you visit this blog and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A German version follows below.

2. Hosting by Blogger (Google) and server data

This blog is hosted by Blogger, a service of Google. For users in the European Economic Area, the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland. When you open a page, Google processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the time of the request, and uses cookies. Blogger shows a cookie notice to visitors from the EU. Further information is in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

I only see aggregated statistics provided by Blogger, such as page views and countries of origin. I do not use any further analytics or advertising tools.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website). Where cookies require consent, the legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25 TDDDG.

3. Fonts

This blog uses the fonts Poppins and Lora. They are loaded from Google Fonts servers. Your browser therefore connects to Google, and your IP address is transmitted to Google. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (uniform and attractive presentation).

4. Interactive map

The World Map page uses the open-source library Leaflet, which is loaded from the cdnjs content delivery network operated by Cloudflare, and map tiles from servers of OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom). When you open that page, your browser connects to these servers, and your IP address and technical data are transmitted to them. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (providing an interactive map).

5. Comments

If you leave a comment, your comment, the time of posting and the name you chose are stored and are visible to other visitors. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent through submitting the comment). You can ask me to delete a comment at any time.

6. Contact by email

If you write to me, I use your email address and message only to answer you. I delete them when the matter is settled, unless legal retention duties apply. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR. If you use the contact form in the sidebar, your name, email address and message are transmitted to me through Blogger, a service of Google, which processes them as the provider of the form.

Submitting a group. The form on the World Map page does not send any data to this blog. It prepares an email in your own email program, which you send yourself; the email is then processed by my email provider (Google). I use the details you provide to check your request and to contact you. Group name, place, country, link and description are published on the map only with your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Your name and email address are not published. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to me; the entry will then be changed or removed.

7. External links

This blog links to other sites, for example to Second Life. I have no influence on how these sites process data. Their own privacy policies apply.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw a given consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 9. Changes

I update this page when the blog changes, for example when a new feature such as an interactive map is added. Status: October 2026.

Ich sehe nur zusammengefasste Statistiken von Blogger, etwa Seitenaufrufe und Herkunftsländer. Weitere Analyse- oder Werbewerkzeuge setze ich nicht ein.

Rechtsgrundlage: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (berechtigtes Interesse an einem sicheren und funktionsfähigen Webangebot). Soweit Cookies eine Einwilligung erfordern, ist die Rechtsgrundlage deine Einwilligung nach Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO in Verbindung mit § 25 TDDDG.

3. Schriften

Beim Aufruf dieser Seite verbindet sich dein Browser mit diesen Servern, und deine IP-Adresse und technische Daten werden an sie übermittelt. Rechtsgrundlage: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (Bereitstellung einer interaktiven Karte).

5. Kommentare

Wenn du einen Kommentar hinterlässt, werden dein Kommentar, der Zeitpunkt und der von dir gewählte Name gespeichert und sind für andere Besucher sichtbar. Rechtsgrundlage: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO (deine Einwilligung durch das Absenden). Du kannst jederzeit verlangen, dass ich einen Kommentar lösche.

6. Kontakt per E-Mail

Wenn du mir schreibst, nutze ich deine E-Mail-Adresse und deine Nachricht nur, um dir zu antworten. Ich lösche sie, wenn die Angelegenheit erledigt ist, es sei denn, gesetzliche Aufbewahrungspflichten stehen dem entgegen. Rechtsgrundlage: Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b oder f DSGVO. Wenn du das Kontaktformular in der Seitenleiste nutzt, werden dein Name, deine E-Mail-Adresse und deine Nachricht über Blogger, einen Dienst von Google, an mich übermittelt; Google verarbeitet sie dabei als Anbieter des Formulars.

Gruppe melden. Das Formular auf der Seite World Map sendet selbst keine Daten an diesen Blog. Es bereitet eine E-Mail in deinem eigenen E-Mail-Programm vor, die du selbst absendest; die E-Mail wird dann von meinem E-Mail-Anbieter (Google) verarbeitet. Ich nutze deine Angaben, um deine Anfrage zu prüfen und dich zu kontaktieren. Gruppenname, Ort, Land, Link und Beschreibung werden nur mit deiner Einwilligung auf der Karte veröffentlicht (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). Dein Name und deine E-Mail-Adresse werden nicht veröffentlicht. Du kannst deine Einwilligung jederzeit durch eine Nachricht an mich widerrufen; der Eintrag wird dann geändert oder entfernt.

7. Externe Links

Dieser Blog verlinkt auf andere Seiten, zum Beispiel auf Second Life. Auf deren Datenverarbeitung habe ich keinen Einfluss. Es gelten die jeweiligen Datenschutzerklärungen.

8. Deine Rechte

Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft (Art. 15), Berichtigung (Art. 16), Löschung (Art. 17), Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18), Datenübertragbarkeit (Art. 20) und Widerspruch (Art. 21 DSGVO). Eine erteilte Einwilligung kannst du jederzeit mit Wirkung für die Zukunft widerrufen. Außerdem hast du das Recht, dich bei einer Aufsichtsbehörde zu beschweren. Many people answer with a quick no: a "real" encounter needs real bodies in a real room. Others, who have spent years in online worlds, answer just as quickly with a yes.
